too much of a good thing?

Filed under: Whistler Bike Park — victorgin @ 11:23 pm

Well, it’spm  Thursday arvo and i’ve got about another 6 days here at Whistler…. I picked up my bike from the mechanics around 3pm and forks are still a little stuffed, but a bit better – i think i need some new ones soon!

Anyways – I did two runs this arvo, then checked out the dirt jumps, skate park and skills areas…. and to tell you the truth, i never thought i would say this…. but i’m kinda sick of riding my bike!!…. damn eh!… It’s in print now, i’ll probably look back later and wonder what i was thinking!!! – but yeah, it’s just not giving me the ‘buzz’ at this point in time… maybe it is just today, maybe it is the 7 days of riding preceeding today… i dunno!

Anyways – over the past few days, I’ve been on the chairlift and had a chat with Scarlett Hagen (NZ national fast chic), and Matt Hunter(Specialized/Addidas rider)….

I’m off for a beer (that might fix the riding thing!!…) and a feed… then might go for a lake swim on the way home…. Dang, i have to ride home too!!

  1. Hi Vic,
Been really busy for a bit and had been forgetting to check out your site. Man, so much to catch up on. Have spent the last couple of nights checking it all out. Your trip sounds so awesome. Has got me all amped up for riding, but the weather here has turned to complete cr*p raining every couple of days so trails are either shut or should be shut.
How are you finding the new hub?? Is the same one on my NRS and are quite loud. Sad you fork is giving you trouble. Just means more bike shops to go into to check out the bling.
Have started organising a crew to go down to the Brake Burner in Queenstown. Heaps of friends from Auckland are keen.
Also have got onto the Gravity Canterbury track comittee, sort of. It is just being set up to formally develop the tracks in Vic Park with the ranger. The ranger came to the Gravity Canterbury AGM and gave a talk about whats going on and where he thinks things are going. Sounds like early 2009 the McVickers forest area (that big forest to the south of Dyers Pass Road) might have open access for riding.
Keep well and on your bike.
    Mike
